Nationwide, RDA horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults.
Riding For The Disabled Aberdeen (Aberdeen RDA) is the local member group of the national RDA charity, and, being formed in 1970, is one of the oldest groups in Scotland.
Thanks to the help of over 50 volunteers, we provide riding opportunities for around 25 riders each week.
We offer our services free of charge and rely entirely on voluntary help and donations to deliver this.
Aberdeen RDA holds sessions at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre, Milltimber on TUESDAY and FRIDAY mornings during school term-time.

Aberdeen RDA is run entirely by volunteers. No previous experience of working with the disabled or with horses is necessary as training is given to all volunteers.

AABi Teddy returns in top form
It was great to have AABi Teddy back at today’s RDA session after he’s been a bit poorly over the winter. Teddy was clearly very happy to be back doing his job, and both the riders and volunteers were delighted to see him.
RDA’s Secretary receives top award from HRH Princess Anne
Our former secretary Barbara Gibbons was awarded the RDA President’s Award for her many years of dedicated service to RDA at both Group and Regional level. Barbara started as a volunteer for Aberdeen RDA 31 years ago and became our Secretary 29 years ago!!…
Aberdeen RDA’s pony Elsa is a big hit with both helpers and riders
Aberdeen RDA bought Elsa in 2016 and she has already become a favourite with riders and helpers alike. She has a very placid nature and doesn’t seem to be phased by anything.
