Aberdeen RDA is run entirely by volunteers. No previous experience of working with the disabled or with horses is necessary as training is given to all volunteers.
The main roles of a volunteer including leading the pony (leader) and walking alongside the rider (side-helper). We do not look for any degree of horse riding experience in or volunteers, just that you are reasonably fit and happy to help in any conditions(even when its cold).
We only ask that our volunteers help out once a week for one lesson, which is a maximum of two and a half hours.
