About Us Picture

Aberdeen RDA is a member group of the national charity Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). The Aberdeen Group was formed in 1970 and is the oldest group in Scotland.

Thanks to the help of over 50 volunteers, we provide riding opportunities for around 25 riders each week. We currently offer our services free of charge, and rely entirely on voluntary help and donations to deliver this.

Picture of Horse 1
DOB: 2008
Sex: Mare
Height: 15h
Breed: Cob
Colour: Piebald
Aberdeen RDA purchased Elsa in September 2016. Although she was purchased locally, her origins are Irish and she has spent time in England - so is well travelled! From the first time Aberdeen RDA coaches Catherine and Iona met Elsa it was clear that she was not easily phased and she has proved very trainable for RDA.

DOB: 2011
Sex: Gelding
Height: 15.1h
Breed: Haflinger/ID
Colour: Palomino

Aberdeen RDA purchased Sammy in December 2017. Sammy is an Irish Draught/Haflinger and was bred north of Newmachar. Sammy is very much a people person and likes to say hello to all humans! While still young he has taken to the RDA training like a duck to water.
