Aberdeen RDA is a member group of the national charity Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA). The Aberdeen Group was formed in 1970 and is the oldest group in Scotland.
Thanks to the help of over 50 volunteers, we provide riding opportunities for around 25 riders each week. We currently offer our services free of charge and rely entirely on voluntary help and donations to deliver this.
Aberdeen RDA holds sessions on TUESDAY and FRIDAY mornings during school term-time.
Our secretary Barbara Gibbons was awarded the RDA President's Award for her many years of dedicated service to RDA at both Group and Regional level.
Barbara started as a volunteer for Aberdeen RDA 31 years ago and became our Secretary 29 years ago!! Behind the scenes Barbara looks after the all-important paperwork part of running the Group and is font of knowledge, and support, to her fellow RDA trustees.
Barbara was presented with her award by HRH Princess Anne in April.
